The Political Geography Research Group (PolGRG) of the RGS-IBG are sponsoring more than 30 sessions at the upcoming RGS-IBG Annual International Conference, having a lunchtime social, and hoping to connect with more political geographers during the week!

The Annual International Conference takes place at the University of Birmingham Tues 26th – Fri 29th Aug 2025. The theme this year is Geographies of Creativity/Creative Geographies, chaired by Prof. Patricia Noxolo.

You can find the wide range of sessions sponsored by the Research Group here (or searching for ‘PolGRG; in the conference programme).

We’re also organising a friendly and informal lunchtime social on Friday 29th (1:10-2:45pm) in the Muirhead Building, room 112 – come find us there! This is a great time to meet some fellow political geographers, and to learn more about the Research Group if you’re curious about what we do.

The following Monday, 1st Sept (11am-12pm), our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place online. Again this is a great opportunity to learn more about the Group, and perhaps even to get involved yourself – this year we’re looking for a few committee positions to be filled. Further details on the positions and the AGM here – and please register to attend online using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/6fwaySLmT4aAr9qIf_kMfw

Finally, if you’d like to receive regular updates about our activities, you can sign up to our mailing list here.

Hope to see you in Birmingham!
